Privacy Policy
LicenseLab ("we", "us") makes the LicenseLab study app for iPhone and this website. We collect as little as possible. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
- Your study progress (which questions you answered and whether correctly). It is stored on your device. If you sign in, it is also saved to our server so you can restore it on a new phone.
- Sign in with Apple. If you sign in, Apple gives us an anonymous user identifier and, only if you choose to share it, your email or Apple's private relay email. We use it to keep your account, progress and invite rewards.
- Invites. If you share your invite link or join through one, we store the invite code, which account it belongs to, and whether a free-week reward was given. This prevents the reward from being given more than once.
- Votes for future licenses and states, stored without your name.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active and its expiry date. We never see your card or payment details.
- Support emails you send us, and the translation error reports you choose to submit.
How we use it
Only to run the app: show your progress, unlock what you paid for, give invite rewards, answer support requests, fix questions and translations, and decide which licenses to build next.
Where it is stored
Our server runs on Cloudflare in the United States. Data is sent over encrypted connections.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by emailing us; we then delete your account data within 30 days.
Children
LicenseLab is meant for adults preparing for professional license exams and is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time. California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
